Pet Laser Therapy in Crawfordsville, IN

Laser therapy is an advanced, noninvasive treatment used to manage pain and promote healing in pets. Class IV (cold) laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, and speed tissue repair—without cutting or damaging tissue. It’s often recommended for pets with chronic conditions like osteoarthritis, whether or not they’ve had orthopedic surgery.

Each pet’s pain management plan is tailored by the veterinarian based on their unique needs. While smaller pets may need quick 8–10-minute sessions, larger dogs with arthritis in multiple joints may benefit from longer sessions. A typical course includes 8–10 treatments, starting 2–3 times per week and tapering to weekly visits.

Laser therapy is soothing—many pets find it relaxing and even fall asleep during sessions. Treatments can be done with the pet lying comfortably on a blanket or table, and you may be allowed to stay with them while wearing protective goggles.

Laser therapy also supports post-surgical recovery by promoting faster healing of incisions and relieving joint pain. Beyond arthritis, it can be used to treat wounds, lick granulomas, and skin disorders. However, it’s not recommended for pets with cancer, as it may accelerate malignant growth.

Ask your veterinarian if your pet is a candidate for laser therapy and discover how this gentle, effective treatment can help improve their comfort and quality of life.
